This is a graphic adaptation of the enigmatic eyes of Dr. T.J Eckleburg from The Great Gatsby. These disembodied eyes looking out of yellow rimmed spectacles are an often recurring motif in this pathbreaking work of literature by F.Scott Fitzgerald and have been variously interpreted as the all seeing eye of god, conscience, a constant witness and so on. The city skyline of the New York city from the 1920s, can also be seen in the artwork.
